Services

There are many ways to promote person-centered care, and we adapt our services to the needs of each organization that we work with. We focus our work on person-centered communication and whole-person health system transformation.

Motivational Interviewing

We design and implement motivational interviewing learning plans for teams.

Motivational interviewing is an evidence-based counseling method. It uses a guiding style of conversation to help individuals and groups resolve ambivalence and move towards change. From health promotion to organizational leadership, motivational interviewing generates effective and engaging conversations that help people get unstuck and embrace change.

Collaborative Screening

We offer a modular curriculum and tailored approach to promoting person-centered screening.

Sometimes a meaningful conversation is all you can offer to people in distress. Collaborative Screening is a framework for improving the process of asking patients and families about sensitive topics such as social needs, using a respectful and trauma-informed approach. It uses evidence-informed guidelines to help you create safe, meaningful screening interactions.

Research

We work with research teams to support the discovery and implementation of new evidence for integrated, person-centered care.

We specialize in engaging everyone involved in healthcare, from patients and families to leaders and care teams. We excel at developing key questions and listening carefully to understand what’s working well and what could be improved.

The Waterwheel Health Consulting team is skilled at gathering and making sense of qualitative data. We have many years of experience collaborating on pragmatic, practice-based research and helping clients improve healthcare in the real world.
